Procedural fire, right inside After Effects. The effect applies to a shape - text, a logo, a cutout - and simulates nothing: no fluid, no particles. The fire is built by stacking fractal noise and distortions. Everything starts from your shape: a legible shape gives legible fire. And the fire doesn't rise from the shape - it consumes it: warped, blurred, then eaten by flames flowing around it. "Burn the shape" decides what's left of it.
The fire consumes the shape
"Burn the shape" goes from a crisp shape under the flames to its complete disappearance - it decides whether your logo is still readable. And "Wrap around shape" gives the fire its liquid quality: flames flow around the subject instead of through it.
All the substance of fire
Flame height, spread and rise speed; a fractal noise field scaled to your shape; stacked distortions - edge, twist, sway - and three layers of substance: grit, dark blobs, sparks.
Fire-grade color
A six-color gradient from black to the hottest white, driven by a gamma that decides how much of the image falls into the hot tones - a control more powerful than the six colors combined. Two-color glow, core and falloff, plus final sharpening.
