Director, motion designer and creative director based in Paris, Xavier Reyé has been making images for twenty years: music videos (Stromae), title sequences (Canal+, film, documentary), advertising and luxury imagery. Coming from post-production, he does compositing and VFX, and moves freely between art direction, directing and supervision. He also works with generative AI, integrated into his production workflows. He teaches After Effects and VFX at MJM Graphic Design Paris and at School Online University, its online-training subsidiary, for companies such as Estée Lauder. And he builds plugins for the community. Between Paris and Rome.

Background

Xavier Reyé is a director, art director, and graphic designer based in Paris. He began his career at Radio Nova, where he created websites for musical artists. This early experience led him into the world of post-production, working with renowned studios such as Digital District and Fix Studio, before gradually shifting his focus to directing and motion design.

Over the years, Xavier has collaborated with director Édouard Salier on several high-profile projects, including commercials for Nike, Coca-Cola and O2, as well as music videos for artists like Massive Attack, Metronomy, and Raphael Saadiq. He also co-directed the video for Cassius's Toop Toop with François Peyranne. In 2015, he was entrusted with designing the visual stage content for Stromae's tour, and went on to direct the powerful music video for Quand c'est. His work for artists like Doctor L and Soldout is marked by a distinctive blend of live-action and animation, always tailored to the artist's universe.

Xavier continues to explore new creative territories, especially through the use of artificial intelligence in visual storytelling. He also shares his knowledge and experience by teaching VFX at MJM Graphic Design School in Paris, helping to shape the next generation of visual artists.
