CRT emulation, right inside After Effects. The plugin doesn't lay a scanline texture over your image: it rebuilds the signal path of a television set, in the order things actually happen - the signal loses resolution, the beam sweeps lines whose thickness depends on brightness, the phosphors cut that light into triads, the glass diffuses, the tube bows the picture. The mask is geometry, not a pasted image: it holds up when you zoom in, without pixelating.
15 presets
Complete starting points, not decorative variations: Broadcast the clean tube, Cabinet the arcade cabinet, Cartridge the console on a TV set, Portapak the earliest video gear, Sync Loss the set losing lock, Under the Glass nose against the faceplate… Pick one, then adjust - "Strength" fades back towards the original if the effect comes on too strong.
Every stage exposed
Every stage of the tube is exposed: beam, phosphor mask (aperture grille, slot or shadow mask), gun convergence, glow and halation, spherical or cylindrical curvature. Plus every signal fault, to be dosed one at a time: chroma bleed, ghosting, snow, hum bar, vertical roll, macroblocking.
Light and instant
